Heteranthera zosterifolia, also known as Star Grass or Zosterifolia, is a species of aquatic plant that is native to South America. It is a popular choice among aquarists, known for its delicate, light green leaves and its ability to grow compact and low. This plant is considered easy to care for and can be grown in a variety of lighting and water conditions. It can be grown as a foreground or mid-ground plant in the aquarium. It can also be propagated by cutting and planting the stem. It’s important to note that this plant prefers a nutrient-rich substrate and can benefit from regular fertilization. It can also be grown in terrariums, paludariums, or as a ground cover in a moist soil environment. In open aquariums it forms small blue flowers if some shoots are allowed to spread on the surface.
