Description

Ludwigia repens is an aquatic plant that is native to North and Central America. It is known for its bright green leaves and is often used in aquascaping and as a foreground or midground plant in freshwater aquariums. It is relatively easy to care for, but requires moderate to high lighting and moderate to high levels of CO2 to thrive. It can grow to be quite tall and may need to be trimmed or pruned regularly to keep it in check. It can be propagated by cutting and planting the stem. It is also known to change its leaf color to red or purple when exposed to high light and CO2 conditions, which makes it an interesting option for aquascaping. The flowers have four yellow petals and are stalkless at the base of leaf pairs. Leaves are glossy, oval and occur in opposite pairs.
