Description

Anubias Nana 'Pinto'

Anubias Nana Pinto serves as a notable illustration of selective breeding, a variety meticulously crafted through generations by human intervention. Over time, plants displaying captivating white-green patterns were specifically chosen and propagated, resulting in the Anubias Nana Pinto we now admire. These patterns arise from the absence of green pigments (chlorophyll) in specific areas of the leaves, each leaf and plant possessing a distinct and one-of-a-kind pattern. In contrast to other Anubias species, Anubias Nana Pinto exhibits a relatively slower growth rate. To maintain its health and characteristic whiteness, it is advisable to provide higher-intensity light. It's crucial to refrain from completely burying the rhizome during planting, as this could lead to rhizome deterioration and the demise of the plant. Optimal growth is achieved when Anubias plants are affixed to hardscapes like driftwood or rocks using glue or string.Check out this article from The 2HR Aquarist on how to grow Anubias species.
