Albino Kohaku Wag Swordtail (Xiphophorus hellerii)

The Albino Kohaku Wag Swordtail is a stunning and unique livebearer known for its vibrant red-orange body, white (albino) base, and bold black tail and fin edges. Inspired by the classic Kohaku koi pattern, this swordtail variety adds elegance and contrast to planted aquariums and peaceful community tanks.

As a member of the Poeciliidae family, this swordtail is hardy, peaceful, and easy to care for—perfect for both beginner and experienced aquarists. Males feature an extended lower tail fin (“sword”) and typically reach up to 10 cm, while females are slightly larger and more rounded.

They thrive in temperatures between 22–28 °C, with a pH of 7.0–8.0, and prefer well-filtered tanks with open swimming space and some plant cover. Albino Kohaku Wags are active, social, and best kept in groups of 3 or more.

Feed a varied diet of high-quality flakes, pellets, and occasional frozen foods to keep their colours rich and their health strong. As livebearers, they may reproduce readily in stable aquariums.
