Anubias barteri var. angustifolia, often just called Anubias angustifolia, has long, slender green leaves that flow and arch in a way that sets it apart from the rounder Anubias varieties. It is a rhizome plant that attaches to hardscape rather than rooting into the substrate, and it sits comfortably in the midground, tied or glued to rocks and driftwood or run along the hardscape as an accent.
This is an easy, low light plant that grows slowly, so it needs very little trimming and holds its shape for a long time. Keep the rhizome exposed and only anchor the roots, since a buried rhizome can rot. The tough leaves shrug off nibbling from grazing fish, which makes it a reliable choice for community and planted tanks, and the long foliage gives fish welcome shade and shelter. CO2 is not needed, though a little can nudge growth along.
It is grown in sterile tissue culture, densely packed in a sealed cup and free of snails, algae, pests and disease, so your tank gets a clean, healthy start.

How to plant your tissue culture Anubias
- Rinse the clear nutrient gel from the base of the plant.

- Attach the portions to rock or driftwood with thread or glue, keeping the rhizome exposed and only the roots against the surface.
- Leave it undisturbed while it settles and grips on.
