Each tissue culture cup contains multiple portions — simply rinse, divide, and plant. One pot can cover more ground than you'd expect!
Anubias barteri var. nana 'Bonsai', usually just called Anubias Bonsai, is the most compact Anubias of all, with tiny oval dark green leaves on a creeping rhizome. The leaves grow densely into a low, bushy cushion. It sits best in the foreground or attached to driftwood and rock, where its fine detail really shows.
Like all Anubias it is an epiphyte, so the rhizome stays above the substrate and the plant is tied or glued onto hardscape rather than buried. It stays small and grows slowly, needing very little trimming, and the tough leaves shrug off grazing from herbivorous fish. Happy in low light and with no need for added CO2, it is a forgiving plant for nano tanks, low tech setups and detailed community aquascapes.
It is grown in sterile tissue culture and arrives in a densely packed cup, free of snails, algae, pests and disease, giving your tank a clean and healthy start.

How to plant your tissue culture Anubias
- Rinse the clear nutrient gel from the base of the plant.
- Divide it into small portions.
- Attach each portion to driftwood or rock with thread or a dab of glue, keeping the rhizome exposed above the substrate rather than buried.
- Leave the roots undisturbed while it settles and grips onto the hardscape.
