Description
Description
Aponogeton undulatus, the wavy-leaf aponogeton, grows from a small tuber into a rosette of medium-green, ribbon-like leaves with wavy, undulate margins that reach up to 35cm long. Its size and upright leaves make it a natural background plant.
It is one of the easier aponogetons to keep, hardy and generally happy without the rest period that many relatives need. It grows at a moderate pace under medium light, and it is unusual in that it propagates on its own: instead of true flowers, the inflorescence carries small plantlets at the nodes, much like an Echinodorus. These form over roughly two to six weeks and often break away by themselves, giving you new plants for the substrate. Floating leaves are rare, but when they appear they can extend a long way, up to 90cm in total length.

Our plants are harvested fresh and algae free. The conversion to submerged growth begins in our grow-out tanks, which helps this plant settle quickly and get established in your aquarium.
Submerged means grown underwater, the form the plant takes once it has adapted to life in your tank. Emersed means grown above the waterline with leaves in the air, the form many plants start in before they transition to full submerged growth.
