Bacopa caroliniana, or Lemon Bacopa, is a hardy stem plant native to the southern United States. Thick, succulent leaves sit in pairs up sturdy upright stems, and when crushed they give off the light lemon scent that earns the plant its name. It grows tall, so it earns its place along the back of the tank.
Given moderate to high light the green foliage takes on a soft light pink flush at the tips, a nice contrast against darker plants. It is an easygoing, adaptable plant that copes with a wide range of water, soft or hard, roughly 20 to 28C and pH 6.0 to 8.0. CO2 is not required, though a little along with a nutrient rich substrate speeds growth and lifts the colour. Trim the stems and replant the tops to fill out the group, and regular pruning keeps it bushy and compact.

Our stems are harvested fresh and algae free. Conversion to submerged growth starts in our grow-out tanks, so the plant is already adjusting to underwater life and settles in faster for you.
Submerged means grown fully underwater, the form the plant takes once established in your aquarium. Emersed means grown with the leaves above the waterline, as many plants are farmed. As it transitions to submerged growth you may see some older leaves fade while fresh underwater growth takes over, which is normal.
