Bolbitis heudelotii, better known as the African Water Fern, is a leafy rhizome fern with finely divided, deep green fronds and a slightly translucent look. It sits well in the midground or background, where its open, feathery texture breaks up harder shapes like wood and rock.
This is an epiphyte, so it grows attached to hardscape rather than buried in the substrate, and it holds its place without taking over the tank. It is a slow, steady grower that stays manageable, which makes it a comfortable choice for newer aquascapers and experienced ones alike. It sits in the same easygoing group as Anubias, Bucephalandra and Cryptocoryne, and gives its fullest fronds with good light and CO2, and it appreciates gentle water movement.

Nice healthy plant
A good bunch of plants was delivered and they looked great but for whatever reason they have suffered quite a bit with leaf melt. Most of the leaves have turned brown and needed cutting off. With it being such a slow grower it’s hard to know if these will bounce back and look great eventually but we hope so! Great advice as always though on the care of these so we shall see.

Quite pleased with plant received. Bigger than I expected. However arrived a bit worse for wear as was over five days in transit via NZ post.
Hopefully will peek up in a few days .
Plant arrived fully intact, great condition with plenty of growth. Added to my aqaurium to give it that leafy fern look and feel. Definitely recommend !
