Meet the newest member of the VIVID family—the VIVID II Mate. You get the clean pendant silhouette, rich RGB spectrum control, and broad, even spread the series is known for, tuned to deliver serious planted-tank performance without the flagship price tag. Over a 60–90 cm tank it offers ample headroom; most aquascapes will run it dimmed day-to-day, with extra intensity in reserve when you need it. Out of the box, the included hanging rope kit gives you that gallery-style presentation with unobstructed surface shimmer.
Control is where it gets delightfully simple. The My Chihiros app (iOS/Android) lets you set timers and daily schedules, apply sunrise/sunset ramps, and adjust each RGB channel and overall brightness to dial in colour rendering for your scape. You can save and share custom presets, and update device firmware through the app to pick up feature improvements. Advanced users can even run multiple ramp periods in a single day if they want a lunch-time peak or softer evenings. In short: you get precise spectrum/brightness control, automated routines, and painless updates—all from your phone.
For quick comparison, the Mate runs 125 W with 140 RGB LEDs and a 10,000 lm output. Higher-end VIVIDs step up LED count and peak intensity, but the on-tank look and spread remain reassuringly familiar. In practice, you keep the VIVID vibe and lose little besides extreme top-end brightness.
