Chihiros VIVID II Shades

If your VIVID is lighting the room as much as the scape, these mirror shades are the tidy fix. Each aluminium shade has a reflective inner panel that redirects stray light downward, helping concentrate output in the tank for crisper contrast and less dazzle when you’re viewing side-on. Installation is satisfyingly simple: no screws or magnets—just slide the pieces into the top slots of the fixture and you’re done. The set includes two pieces so you can shield both the front and back edges and keep that clean, gallery-style look from all angles. 

Designed specifically for the RGB VIVID II family, the shades fit the standard VIVID II, the 10th Anniversary edition, and the VIVID 2 Mate. Dimensions are around 457 mm long × 86 mm wide (per shade), matching the footprint of the VIVID housing. Colours come in black or silver to suit your fixture and stand.

The are used to reduce blinding/glare and increase effective light intensity in the tank thanks to the mirror surface. 

Who is this for? Anyone running a VIVID pendant near eye-level, filming/photographing a tank, or sitting close to the aquarium will appreciate the reduced glare. It’s also handy if you want to keep light off surrounding walls or plants—more beam in the water, less in the room.
