Cryptocoryne wendtii 'Green', or green wendtii crypt, is a compact rosette plant with narrow green leaves that grow from a central base. It reaches 10 to 15cm tall with a rosette 8 to 15cm wide, which makes it a natural fit for the midground of small and medium aquariums.
Grown in open space the leaves tend to lie low across the substrate, filling in over time. It is an easygoing plant that does well in low light and does not need CO2, and like most Sri Lankan crypts it also grows happily in hard water. If the leaves melt back after planting, do not worry: crypt melt is normal and new growth returns once the roots settle in.
