About Tissue Culture Plants

What’s the Deal with Tissue Culture Plants?
Tiny plants. Big benefits. Zero unwanted surprises.

Grown in a Lab (On Purpose)
These aren’t your average aquarium plants.

Tissue culture plants are grown in pristine lab conditions — no pests, no snails, no algae. Just vibrant, healthy growth suspended in a sealed pot of nutrient gel that looks like dessert (but please, don’t).

Why They’re a Big Deal

  • 100% algae-free — start clean, stay clean
  • No snails — unless you’re into surprise hitchhikers
  • Pesticide-free — safe for shrimp, snails, and sensitive fish
  • Incredible value — you get heaps of plant once it’s split and planted
  • Long shelf life — lasts weeks sealed in its cup (great for planning your scape)
  • Small in size, big on payoff

How to Use (Don’t Just Chuck It In)
Peel the lid — it’ll feel oddly satisfying

  1. Rinse off the gel (do not plant the goo)
  2. Divide into small chunks — trust us, there’s more than it looks
  3. Plant using tweezers, spaced evenly across the substrate
  4. Watch it take off like it’s been waiting its whole life to grow in your tank

Pro tip: One pot can cover a surprising amount of space — plant wisely and it’ll spread quickly.

Lab Grown, Algae Free, Snail Free.

Grown in sterile conditions with no snails, algae, or hitchhikers — the cleanest start for any freshwater tank.

Great Value in Every Cup

Each tissue culture cup contains multiple portions — simply rinse, divide, and plant. One pot can cover more ground than you'd expect!

Cryptocoryne Wendtii ‘Green’ is a classic, low-maintenance aquatic plant, renowned for its vibrant bright green leaves and exceptional adaptability. Its compact growth habit and robust nature make it a perfect choice for mid-ground to foreground placement in freshwater aquariums. Whether used as a lush green accent in small tanks or as part of a dense cluster in larger aquascapes, Cryptocoryne Wendtii ‘Green’ adds a natural, vibrant charm that enhances any layout.

This versatile Cryptocoryne thrives under low to moderate light conditions, making it ideal for low-tech setups. Its resilience allows it to grow well without CO2 injection, though a nutrient-rich substrate and occasional root tabs will encourage healthier, more vibrant growth. Once established, Cryptocoryne Wendtii ‘Green’ spreads gradually through runners, forming dense, bushy clusters of lush green foliage that require minimal maintenance.

At Aquascaping Essentials, our tissue culture plants are densely packed and sealed for freshness, providing you with an abundance of healthy plants that are pest, algae, snail, and disease-free. This ensures exceptional value for money while giving your aquascape the best possible start.

The plant’s wavy-edged leaves and bright green color make it a fantastic contrast to other plants with darker or broader foliage. Its hardy nature also means that it is highly resistant to grazing from herbivorous fish, making it an excellent addition to community aquariums or tanks with shrimp and grazing species.

Cryptocoryne Wendtii ‘Green’ is perfect for aquarists of all levels, offering beauty, resilience, and versatility with minimal care. It works well in biotope tanks, jungle layouts, or minimalist scapes, where its lush green foliage can shine.

SO many plants

I must've ended up with like 18-20 different plants after taking them all out, I've experienced almost no melt with them either
