Echinodorus Grisebachii (Amazon Sword) - S is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Echinodorus grisebachii, the Amazon Sword, is one of the most recognisable plants in the freshwater hobby. It forms a large rosette of broad, sword-shaped green leaves that fan out from a central crown, and it sits best in the background of medium to large aquariums where it has room to spread.
This is a hardy rosette plant and a heavy root feeder, so it does its best work in a nutrient-rich substrate with root tabs tucked in around the base. It grows up to around 50cm tall, filling in as a lush green backdrop and giving fish plenty of natural cover. It settles in reliably in a wide range of tanks, from South American biotopes to general community setups, which makes it a dependable choice for beginners and experienced aquarists alike.

Our plants are harvested fresh and algae free, and their conversion to the submerged form begins in our grow-out tanks. This gives them a head start and maximises success once they settle into your aquarium.
Submerged: growing fully underwater, the form the plant takes once it has adapted to life in your tank. Emersed: grown with the leaves above the waterline, a common nursery method that produces strong, healthy plants that then transition to submerged growth.
