Echinodorus Uruguayensis, also known as the Uruguayan Sword Plant, is a striking and versatile aquatic plant native to South America. Its long, ribbon-like leaves range in color from vibrant green to dark reddish-brown, adding texture and movement to any aquarium. Known for its adaptability, this plant thrives in a variety of water conditions and is ideal for aquarists of all skill levels.
With its ability to grow up to 55 cm (21.65 inches) in height, Echinodorus Uruguayensis makes an excellent midground or background plant for larger aquariums. Its graceful, undulating leaves provide natural shelter and hiding spots for fish, creating a balanced and aesthetically pleasing environment.
This hardy plant flourishes in nutrient-rich substrates and benefits from moderate to high lighting. While CO₂ supplementation and regular fertilization are optional, they can significantly enhance its growth and coloration.
