About Tissue Culture Plants

What’s the Deal with Tissue Culture Plants?
Tiny plants. Big benefits. Zero unwanted surprises.

Grown in a Lab (On Purpose)
These aren’t your average aquarium plants.

Tissue culture plants are grown in pristine lab conditions — no pests, no snails, no algae. Just vibrant, healthy growth suspended in a sealed pot of nutrient gel that looks like dessert (but please, don’t).

Why They’re a Big Deal

  • 100% algae-free — start clean, stay clean
  • No snails — unless you’re into surprise hitchhikers
  • Pesticide-free — safe for shrimp, snails, and sensitive fish
  • Incredible value — you get heaps of plant once it’s split and planted
  • Long shelf life — lasts weeks sealed in its cup (great for planning your scape)
  • Small in size, big on payoff

How to Use (Don’t Just Chuck It In)
Peel the lid — it’ll feel oddly satisfying

  1. Rinse off the gel (do not plant the goo)
  2. Divide into small chunks — trust us, there’s more than it looks
  3. Plant using tweezers, spaced evenly across the substrate
  4. Watch it take off like it’s been waiting its whole life to grow in your tank

Pro tip: One pot can cover a surprising amount of space — plant wisely and it’ll spread quickly.

Lab Grown, Algae Free, Snail Free.

Grown in sterile conditions with no snails, algae, or hitchhikers — the cleanest start for any freshwater tank.

Great Value in Every Cup

Each tissue culture cup contains multiple portions — simply rinse, divide, and plant. One pot can cover more ground than you'd expect!

Glossostigma elatinoides, or glosso, is a low carpeting plant with small, rounded, bright green leaves on creeping stems. It stays close to the substrate and belongs in the foreground, where it fills in as a fresh green lawn across the front of the tank.

In your tank it spreads horizontally and knits together into a dense carpet. Give it strong light and it stays low and compact, while CO2 and a nutrient rich substrate help it fill in quickly and evenly. A light trim now and then keeps the carpet tight and encourages it to run sideways rather than upward, and as it grows it also takes up excess nutrients in the water. It suits nature style layouts and works well in community and nano tanks.

It is grown in sterile tissue culture and arrives in a densely packed cup, free of snails, algae, pests and disease, for a clean start.

Another great quality plant

We had a lot of foreground to cover with this plant and was going to order just one pot, but took advantage of the offer and got two - and very happy with the results! The pots are fully packed with plants, and they’re in great condition.

Forground plant looks great but a bit fussy

Looks 5 out 5 when happy and maintined needs alot of light to look its best and cut down every week to month looks 2 out of 5 when cut and 3 out of 5 when to long so only a few weeks evey month it looks great the rest of the time some ware inbetween. Also when you fist get it and you have plecos be prepared to need to save it from your filter as plecos are bulldozers and can easilly pull it free it takes a we while for the roots to hook into the aqua soil other than that look nice for a carpet plant
