Hygrophila angustifolia, known as Willow Hygro or Blue Hygrophila, has long, slender, willow-like leaves in a fresh green that give a soft, flowing look. It grows tall and bushy, so it sits best in the background where its narrow foliage adds height and gentle movement.
This is a fast grower that fills in background space quickly and builds a lush green backdrop. It does well in low light and stays easy going, and with more light it grows faster and looks fuller. Prune it regularly to keep it dense and to stop it shading the plants below, and it will take up excess nutrients from the water column as it goes.

Our plants are harvested fresh and algae free, and the conversion to their submerged form starts in our grow-out tanks, which maximises success once the plant settles into your aquarium. Submerged growth is the form the plant takes while fully underwater, which is how it will grow in your tank. Emersed growth is the form grown with the leaves above the waterline, and some new plants transition from this as they adjust to life underwater.
