Description
Description
Hygrophila Corymbosa 'C. Stricta', commonly known as Cherry Leaf, is a bold, broad-leaved stem plant that brings vibrant green to deep cherry-pink tones into your aquascape. Its large, oval leaves and upright growth make it ideal for midground to background placement in planted tanks.
This plant is fast-growing and beginner-friendly, but it is very likely to shed most or all of its leaves when transitioning from emersed to submerged growth. This is a normal part of its adaptation process. Once settled, it will regrow lush underwater foliage.
Key Features:
- Large, oval-shaped leaves with green to cherry-pink tones
- Striking midground to background feature
- Beginner-friendly but loved by advanced aquascapers too
- Fast-growing and nutrient-absorbing
- Great for adding bold colour and texture
Care Instructions:
- Lighting: Medium to high light supports vibrant colour and compact form.
- CO₂: Optional, but encourages faster, fuller growth and deeper colouration.
- Trimming: Trim tops and replant to shape and encourage bushier growth.
- Water Parameters: Performs well at 22–28°C, pH 6.5–7.5; tolerates a range of water hardness.
- Nutrients: Benefits from both substrate and water column fertilisers—especially iron for red tones.
- Important Note: Leaf drop is very likely when planting emersed-form stems underwater. This is expected. Healthy stems will recover and produce new aquatic leaves.
Available in both Emersed and Submerged forms:
- Emersed form will very likely lose its leaves after planting but will regrow submerged foliage.
- Submerged form is fully adapted and ready to plant directly.
