Description
Description
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, known as micro sword, is a grass-like plant from South America with narrow upright blades that look like tiny blades of turf. It sits at the front of the tank, where it spreads sideways to form a low green lawn across the foreground.
Given good light and an open position without shading from taller plants, it knits together into a compact carpet, at its shortest around 4 to 7cm tall. It is a slow grower, so plant small clumps a few centimetres apart and let them spread to fill the gaps. CO2 helps it stay dense and grow in more evenly. It is a versatile plant that can also be grown in garden ponds and tolerates the low salt levels of a brackish aquarium.
