Lindernia rotundifolia, known as roundleaf lindernia, is an easy-going stem plant with rounded green leaves running up sturdy stems. It sits naturally in the midground, where its bushy growth fills the space between low foreground plants and taller background stems.
This is a forgiving, versatile grower. It does well in modest light and clean, nutrient-rich water, and it speeds up noticeably with more light and CO2, so it suits both relaxed low-tech tanks and higher-energy setups. It grows quickly and can become prolific, so regular trimming keeps it neat, and the cuttings replant easily to thicken the group. It will also grow, and even flower, above the waterline, which makes it a handy choice for paludariums.
