Ludwigia palustris 'Super Red', usually just called Super Red in the hobby, is a compact red stem plant with small leaves that hold a deep red on both the top and underside. Its leaf is noticeably smaller than the better known Ludwigia repens 'Super Red', which gives it a finer, more delicate look. It sits well in the midground to background where a splash of red draws the eye.
Each stem reaches roughly 10 to 30cm and turns bushy from regular trimming, as the cut tops push out side shoots that fill in and thicken the group. The stems also regenerate their own roots, so trimmed tops can be replanted to build a fuller stand. It keeps its colour readily and rewards strong light, with a little CO2 helping the reds deepen further.
