Placement Midground to background

Description

Ludwigia repens, or creeping ludwigia, is a stem plant native to North and Central America with glossy oval leaves that sit in opposite pairs. The bright green tops flush red to purple under strong light and CO2, which makes it a warm splash of colour in a planted tank. It works best in the midground to background where its height has room to grow.

Give it good light and it grows quickly, so plan on regular trimming to keep it tidy. Snip the tops and replant them to build a fuller, bushier group over time. It settles in easily and is happy for beginners, and the more light and CO2 you offer, the deeper the red tones come through.
