Mayaca fluviatilis, sold here as green pine, is a soft stem plant from South and Central America. Its very slender bright green leaves crowd along a thin, flexible stem, giving a light, feathery look a bit like a fine conifer shoot. It works well through the midground and into the background where those airy stems can catch the light.
It branches willingly and grows fast, so regular pruning keeps it dense and tidy, and the trimmings replant easily to build a fuller group. It is happiest in soft, slightly acidic water but also does well in medium hard water. Give it steady iron to keep the new shoots a rich green, as pale tips are usually a sign it wants more.

Every plant is harvested fresh and algae free. Conversion to the submerged form starts in our grow-out tanks, which maximises success once it settles into your aquarium.
Submerged means grown fully underwater, the form the plant takes once established in your tank. Emersed means grown with the leaves above the waterline, as many plants are farmed before they adapt to life underwater.
