Riccia Fluitans (Floating Crystalwort) - Loose is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
Riccia fluitans, known as floating crystalwort, is a bright green liverwort with no true roots or leaves, just fine branching stems that form a dense tangled mat 1 to 5cm tall. It can drift at the surface or be pinned down low in the tank, and it earned a following after Takashi Amano popularised growing it submerged in nature-style aquascapes.
Left to float it makes a soft green raft that shelters young fish. To use it as a carpet, tie it over a stone or piece of hardscape with fishing line and trim it back as new shoots reach for the surface. It gives its best with strong light and added CO2, and in good conditions tiny oxygen bubbles pearl on the tips.
