The Wyin Aqua Citric Acid CO₂ System (2L) is a safe, compact, and budget-friendly alternative to pressurized CO₂ cylinders. Designed for use with planted aquariums, this complete stainless steel system generates CO₂ via a chemical reaction between baking soda, citric acid, and water. The mixture is added directly into the stainless steel cylinder, simplifying setup without the need for separate chambers or complicated prep.

The 2-litre polished stainless steel cylinder is corrosion-resistant and built for durability. It’s paired with a precision regulator and a 12V DC solenoid valve, giving you full control over CO₂ delivery. Also included is a standard aluminium bubble counter with a built-in check valve and a ceramic diffuser to efficiently dissolve CO₂ into your aquarium.

This system is ideal for aquarists looking for a compact and refillable solution to support healthy plant growth. The chemical reaction provides a steady CO₂ output that can be adjusted and timed with ease.

How It Works:

Add citric acid, baking soda, and water directly into the stainless steel cylinder. As the solution reacts, it produces CO₂ gas, which is then regulated and delivered into your aquarium. No gas refills or high-pressure cylinders required—just top up the mixture as needed. Please note: baking soda and citric acid are not included.

Instructions for Use (2L Cylinder):

1. Prepare Your Mixtures: Use approximately 300 grams of citric acid and 330 grams of baking soda. These materials are not included.
2. Assemble the Regulator: Attach the filter membrane to the bottom of the CO₂ regulator.
3. Fill the Cylinder: Add 300g citric acid and 330g baking soda directly into the 2L stainless steel cylinder.
4. Add Water: Tilt the cylinder to about a 45° angle and pour in 500ml of tap or distilled water.
5. Attach the Regulator: Securely fasten the regulator to the cylinder. You’ll notice pressure begin to build on the gauge as the reaction starts.
6. Connect Bubble Counter: Fill the bubble counter 3/4 full with water. Connect it to the CO₂ regulator, then attach the 4/6mm tubing.
7. Complete the Setup: Connect the tubing from the bubble counter to the diffuser, using the U-bend connector to guide it over the tank rim. Secure with suction cups.
8. Adjust Flow: Adjust the CO₂ output using the bubble counter. A typical starting rate is around 1 to 1.5 bubbles per second—keep in mind, the higher the rate, the faster the CO₂ will be consumed.
