Cryptocoryne undulata, often called wavy crypt, is a Sri Lankan rosette plant with long, ruffled leaves and distinctly undulating margins. The colour shifts from olive green to a rich bronze depending on your lighting and water, and its size suits the midground to background of a planted tank.
This is a rosette crypt that grows at a moderate pace and settles happily across a wide range of setups, from low tech to high tech. Plant it in small groups and let it develop into a lush, flowing clump that anchors the middle of your scape. Like all Cryptocoryne it dislikes being moved, so pick a spot and leave it be. If the leaves melt back after planting that is normal, it recovers and pushes new growth once the roots take hold.

Submerged growth is the form the plant takes underwater, with leaves adapted to life fully beneath the surface. Emersed growth is the form grown above water with the roots wet, which many aquatic plants naturally do in the wild and in cultivation.
