The Super Highback RTG Arowana is a selectively bred variety of Red Tail Golden Arowana, known for its enhanced gold scaling that extends higher up the back compared to regular RTGs. This gives the fish a brighter and fuller metallic appearance, especially under good lighting conditions.
It features a vibrant red tail, large pectoral fins, and long, streamlined body shape typical of the Scleropages formosus species. As it matures, the gold coloration deepens and becomes more pronounced, making it a standout choice for hobbyists who appreciate bold, ornamental fish.
Super Highback RTGs can reach up to 90 cm in length and require a large, well-covered aquarium with strong filtration. Ideal water parameters include a temperature of 24–30°C and a pH range of 6.0–7.5. Arowanas are surface dwellers and are known to jump, so a tight-fitting lid is essential.
This fish has a carnivorous diet and should be fed a variety of high-quality pellets, shrimp, and frozen or live foods. With proper care, the Super Highback RTG Arowana can live for over a decade and continues to grow more striking with age.
All our arowana are captive-bred and come with a certified microchip and documentation.
