24K Crossback Golden Arowana (Scleropages formosus)
The 24K Crossback Golden Arowana is one of the most sought-after ornamental fish in the world. Known for its brilliant, full-body gold coloration that extends across its back—hence the name “Crossback”—this premium variety originates from selective breeding lines in Malaysia and Indonesia.
Its deep metallic gold shine, even on the dorsal region, distinguishes it from standard golden arowanas. Under proper lighting, the 24K Crossback displays a mirror-like sheen with hues of yellow and gold that intensify as it matures.
This fish can grow up to 90 cm and requires a large aquarium with strong filtration, stable warm temperatures between 24–30°C, and a pH of 6.0–7.5. It is a surface-dwelling predator and should be kept in a covered tank to prevent jumping.
Feeding should include a mix of high-protein pellets, prawns, insects, and other meaty foods. With proper care, this fish can live well over 10 years, making it a long-term, high-impact addition to your aquarium.
All 24K Crossback Golden Arowanas sold come microchipped with certification for peace of mind.
