Queen Arabesque Pleco - L260 - Hypancistrus sp "Queen Arabesque"
The Queen Arabesque Pleco (L260) is a stunning dwarf pleco species, admired for its bold black-and-white maze-like pattern. With its compact size, peaceful nature, and striking appearance, it’s an ideal choice for aquarists looking to add elegance and utility to a smaller tropical aquarium.
This species typically reaches 8–10 cm in length and prefers warm, soft, and well-oxygenated water with moderate to strong flow. Native to the Rio Tapajós in Brazil, it thrives in tanks with plenty of driftwood, rocks, and shaded hiding spots. A soft sand substrate and subdued lighting help replicate its natural riverbed environment.
Queen Arabesque Plecos are peaceful and shy, making them well-suited to community tanks with similarly calm species. They’re omnivores but lean toward carnivorous, preferring sinking pellets, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasional vegetable matter like blanched zucchini or spinach.
Due to their sensitivity to water quality, stable conditions and regular maintenance are essential. With the right care, these plecos are long-lived and remain striking throughout their life.
